January 2004 Newsletter

Dear Members
I do hope you have all had a very enjoyable Christmas and New Year and are now raring to start singing again. I thought the Gounod was a cracker of a performance, and everyone really seemed to enjoy it: choir and audience alike.
We are going to perform for our Spring concert another new piece (three new ones in a row!) for the Choral Society: Haydn’s The Seasons. We hope this will with our usual soloists and a chamber orchestra on a date and place yet to be confirmed, although Saturday, 24th April is looking highly probable for the former.
Rehearsals start again on Wednesday, 14th January at the Alexandra Road School at the usual time of 7-45pm. As ever, if anyone knows of any potential new recruits, do please bring them along.
I look forward to seeing you all next week.
Francis Peel
